April 28th, 2018, Gwen, co-founder of the non-profit organization Plant-Positive, will be running 100 miles in full firefighter gear to attempt to set a new world record.
Why? To raise awareness about cancer prevention via a healthy lifestyle.
According to the American Institute for Cancer Research, 50% of most cancers can be prevented with lifestyle choices. This means that we have the opportunity to save a quarter million Americans- every single year.
Unfortunately, most people are not given a chance to prevent cancer because they simply don’t know how, or don’t know it is even possible.
That’s why we are doing everything we can to spread the word that there are things we can ALL do to dramatically reduce our risk of getting cancer in the first place!
We are fundraising for the creation of a documentary (that we have already started filming) on the topic, to inspire individuals into action. The documentary will highlight not only the 100 mile world record, but it will share touching stories of individuals who have decided to take responsibility for their own health, to reduce their risk and do everything they can to prevent cancer. This film aims to educate and empower viewers of the 10 cancer prevention recommendations by the American Institute for Cancer Research (air.org).
These are powerful stories that can truly inspire others to follow a similar path to health and happiness.
We need help to fund the documentary so we hope you can contribute to make it happen!
